Welcome to the Birmingham Disability Network (BDN)

BDN is an independent, professional network of Third Sector disability organisations and groups that are committed to addressing disadvantage and advancing equality and social inclusion for disabled people.

Launched in July 2009, BDN became a Registered Charity in March 2010.

BDN warmly invites organisations and groups that share its vision to apply for FREE membership.

Individuals are encouraged to become Registered Users in order to participate in forums and post comments.

EHRC reports that supporting disabled workers is a win win situation for the employer and employee.

A new report from the Equality and Human Rights Commission has found that disabled people continue to be put at a disadvantage in the workplace. They are not realising their full potential as they are not getting the support they need at work. The report, “A Perfect Partnership,” says that closing the employment gap between disabled workers and non disabled workers can increase the performance of staff across the board.
